Tom Felton to Make Broadway Debut as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Tom Felton, best known for paying Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, is set to reprise the role for the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

This marks his return to the character after 14 years and his Broadway debut.

Tom Felton, wearing a sleek suit, smiles onstage as he prepares for his Broadway debut as Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” This marks his return to the character after 14 years, now portraying an older Draco in the stage sequel set 19 years after the original series.

Felton will begin a 19-week run at the Lyric Theatre in New York City starting November 11, 2025, through March 22, 2026, taking over from current cast member Aaron Bartz. This will be the first time an actor from the original film series has joined the stage adaptation.

The play is set 19 years after the final Harry Potter book, focusing on the next generation — including Draco’s son, Scorpius Malfoy, and Harry Potter’s son, Albus Severus Potter. Felton said returning to the role feels like a “full-circle moment,” especially now that he is the same age as Draco in the story. He described being moved to tears when trying on Draco’s platinum wig again.

Tickets will go on sale to the public on June 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. EDT. A fan presale begins June 10 for those who sign up by June 9.
